Community services

MCBC, through its various events, raises funds to support the following two Malaysian charity groups.

The funds raised are managed by MCBC and used to pay for their maintenance bills or educators' fees.

Badan Amal Bagi Kanak-Kanak / Dewasa Istimewa Selangor

BAKIS is a social service foundation that renders on formal education and training services to special children and teenagers in the District of Hulu Selangor.  BAKIS, founded in 1990 was the inspiration of a group of parents and individuals who were touched by the silent cry of these physically and mentally disabled children, who were left without any special education to tend themselves.

Home of Peace

Home of Peace is located in Taman Seputeh. It began operations in 1996 and is managed by one permanent staff member, a part-time cook and a full-time volunteer, who both live-in with the children. Home of Peace shelters 11 girls aged 5 to 18, who have come from squatter villages. Home of Peace is presently raising funds in order to purchase a permanent residence for the girls.
