MILO
Nestlē Products
Sdn Bhd |
 |
Nestlē began in Malaysia in 1912 as the
Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company in Penang. Since then the Nestlē brand name
and its products such as MILO – the number one chocolate malt beverage brand in
the world, have become household names. MILO commands over 80% of their
respective market and together with ‘Nescafé’
contribute 63% of Nestlē's profit. MILO continues to be the biggest brand for the
group. Malaysia consumes 90% of worldwide consumption of MILO. It is so popular
that almost all households have a tin of MILO and it would be almost impossible
to find a restaurant that doesn’t sell MILO beverages. Since 1962, with its
first factory and headquarters in Petaling Jaya, Nestlē Malaysia now
manufactures its products in 8 factories, with 6 sales offices nationwide. The
Company was publicly listed on the KLSE in 1989. Today, the company employs over
3,500 people and manufacturers and markets more than 300 Halal products in
Malaysia.
